Celina is a small city that spans both Collin and Denton Counties in the state of Texas and is located just north of Prosper with a population of about 5,200 according to the 2010 Census.  The main highway through the city is Preston  Road (Hwy 289) and lies equal distance between Downtown Dallas and the Oklahoma border.

Celina is a part of the Celina Independent School District.  Celina ISD currently has one high school: Celina High School, one Middle School: Celina Middle School, one Intermediate School: Celina Intermediate and one elementary: Celina Elementary.  The Celina High School Football team has a reputation as one of the most successful programs in Texas. Their UIL record has eight state titles along with a sixty-eight game winning streak. The Celina High School Baseball team has also been successful entering the playoffs on multiple seasons and won the state championship in 2002. Celina has a few claims to fame, in 2010, Kenny Chesney wrote a song called The Boys of Fall, part of the music video that goes to it has to do with high school football and he shot scenes of Celina in 2008 prevailing over Waco La Vega to with the 3A championship.  Also, the Bobcats football team was the subject of the documentary The Power, Passion and Glory.

Celina is mostly farm and ranch land and the landscape is largely open fields with some gently-rolling terrain.  Celina is experiencing rapid growth. In 2003, having never before had any kind of retail chain other than 2 fuel stations and a small Chevrolet dealership, a Sonic restaurant was completed.
